22 April 2005 ­ Steering Committee

Present: Dawn Pedro, Anne Munger, David Cunningham, Whit Humphreys, John Fedor, Jean Butman, Joe Trenn

Whit called the meeting to order at 5 PM

Recreation Forum:

Discussion of participants for event on 12 May 2005. Steering Committee members divided up the list of whom to call to get participants to come

Asking for maps of trails may hinder participation, so reconsider this

Review questions for Recreation Forum (see last meeting minutes)

Changes to questions:

4 How do you get in contact with new people who move into Benson to get them to join the AVT club, VAST, etc.?

Facilitator must have sensitivity about any question that may make any one reluctant to share.

We want to learn the participants needs and the conflicts they face

Send list with above comment to Brian and Phil tomorrow for their review

Surveys: Jean provided coding sheets and gave instructions on how to use them

Interviews: Some people who have returned surveys are willing to be interviewed. Interviews should be soon

Announcements of upcoming events: Whit will get labels and mail

Minutes of 18 April 2005 approved

Next Meeting 10 AM Monday 2 May 2005 to send out announcements and get our packets of code sheets and surveys to work on.
