This project has been sponsored by the Benson Conservation Committee. In addition, Vermont Land Trust obtained a grant from the Alma Gibbs Donchian Foundation to fund this project, which has paid for professional assistance called the “Project Team.” The Project Team consists of three paid professionals. Two planners to help with identifying a community vision of Benson’s future, and a historian/botanist from the PLACE Program to help learning about Benson’s natural and cultural history. The PLACE Program is run by the University of Vermont and Shelburne Farms, who are also sponsors of this project.
